can someone please explain how denmark’s hair stands up even when hair gel wasn’t invented yet?

Isn’t Denmark known for its naturally windy conditions? I think they’re one of the lead countries in terms of producing wind power. Maybe that’s why his hair sticks up. Or, I could just be reading into this too much :p
