First anon: It doesn’t come off as rude, no worries. Pssst. It’s okay to have a different opinion!

I’m just a bit confused by your conclusion. I’ll explain mine below, although I have gone into more depth about this in several England-centric posts. Popularity isn’t a shield against hate but rather a beacon.

Second anon: When you send an ask like that, it would be helpful if you explained why you think that way. You didn’t provide me with another character.

Guys, anyone who knows me will know that I’m a major England fan. I don’t have to state it for it to be obvious. I’ve been in the fandom for several years and this is what I have consistently observed:

Aside from ships/ anti-ship blogs, I’ve noticed that most anti-character blogs are about England. For the most part, they either criticize him because he’s popular “he’s overrated,” his rude comments, or his poor job at raising America. Again, I’ve covered this all before [x] [x] [x] [x] [x]

Across fandoms, there’s a tendency in which characters that are the most popular accumulate the most flack and scrutiny.
