Do you think there is an explanation for why Russia breaks Busby’s chair and appears on England’s magic circle when he tries to summon a demon? I mean an explanation other than “Russia is powerful/secretely satan?

For Russia fans who are tired of
people referring to him as Satan, I hope this does him justice.

Let’s just do a quick catch up so
people know what we’re talking about. Basically, the chair was cursed by an
Englishman just before his execution. It’s rumoured that those who sit on it
will die and/or be dragged down into hell, as it is still haunted by his ghost.
For example, there are claims that
Canadian troops who sat on it in a pub during WW2 never made it back from the
war-front.

When England tries to curse America by using the chair,
Russia accidentally sits on it. Much to everyone’s surprise, the chair
explodes.

In another instance, England attempts
to summon a demon, but Russia pops up in the circle instead.

This took me a while to figure out,
but I think I’ve got it. Basically, Busby’s chair exploded because Russia is so
cursed himself that it overpowered the effects of it. I’m sure that most of you
have heard the saying that those who try to invade Russia in the winter will
inevitably fail, and miserably at that. Russia himself even hates General Winter
regardless of how many times he’s been saved by him. Why? Because General
Winter also attacks him on a yearly basis.

As for being summoned? I think it’s a
really strange metaphor for how Russia perceives himself to be trapped in his
own personal hell. In his song “Winter” he talks about a darkness that cuts off
all light:

“To see through the origins of good and evil

Goodbye

To what lies beyond the darkness (…)

Cutting off all light (…)

A fleeting nightmare”

Put another way: England summoned
Russia because according to the latter, he’s already living in hell.

Save me from depression save me from hell oh mother my grades are gonna be more rotten than a dell— yes I’m hysteric because I’m going to 100% guaranteed fail my maths test tomorrow and I’m don’t want to but I know I will

I’m in the same situation as you 😦 (is currently writing a 16 page paper).

Just push through and try not to think about it as you study because then it just makes things worse. Study the best that you possibly can; that’s all. My mentality is that whatever sticks, sticks 🙂 Good luck!

I know you mentioned this in another post, but what do you think of Russia’s character song ‘Pechka’ (Light my Heart)?

Well, true to Russia’s characterization, it’s immensely
messed up. A pechka is a Russian stove…

What I get from it is that since Russia is always cold and
hates it, his heart has frozen over. This isn’t all that crazy since we
know that he’s persistently attacked by General Winter every year, and naively
longs for summer weather.

Perhaps he wants his heart to defrost so that he can start
feeling again rather than being emotionally numb and unaware.
