I’m safe! How about you?

I lost power and had to travel to my University to access news and the internet.  A tornado hit my area, so I spent all of last night cleaning away debris. This is incredibly strange since in all of my 20 years living here, we have NEVER experienced something like this, let alone an actual tornado.

This is just what my neighborhood looks like. Some are a little blurry because it was STILL pouring when we all went out to assess the situation. There was actually a few people who were trapped in their cars, but thankfully no one was hurt.

Post may be disrupted for a few days, understandably lol.

No worries, friend. I explained more in the tags, but I guess you didn’t see them.

Basically, the project is me setting up a fake profile and analyzing the types of responses that I receive. I’m not responding to them, nor will I waste their time other than the initial reach out.

I chose discourse analysis, and, using a feminist lens, I’ll be seeing how gender relations are implicated in what they say. Language is always performative.

Believe me, no ethics board in their right mind would allow me to go undercover in person, let alone the fact that I wouldn’t dream of doing so. Ew.

Thank you! Since I’m in Criminology, I’m considering analyzing how crime is sensationalized, even fetishized, in fics, or I could take a community root and collect opinions on how people interact online and how they negotiate the risks of facing potential predators.

Scotland:

Rumour: He has an
official character design.

Reality: He doesn’t
have an official character design, albeit making a canon appearance.

Scotland appears off-screen in “The Battle for America.”

Something often confused among fans is that these unspecified
character designs are Scotland, Wales, and Northern Ireland when no such
confirmation was given. These sketches remain as undesigned characters and are not the three brothers.

However, the top one matches a previous sketch of Himaruya’s,
where he gave a rough drawing of what he believed Scotland would look like. Thus,
it’s presumed that this may be Scotland and the other two UK
siblings. But, unless confirmed, they remain as unidentified nations.

Himaruya has gone on the record to say that the UK brothers will
appear in World Stars, as he did with Czechia and Slovakia who have already
made their formal appearances. Although, his initial intention was to draw the brothers first.

Unidentified African nations:

As touched on before, there is what seems to be a female
African nation in volume six that visits Seychelles. Others have concluded that
this nation is Madagascar. This is because of a scene where Seychelles refers
to Madagascar in the third person and that it is a common “speech quirk” to
refer to someone like this in Japanese. While this may be the case, and as
Hetarchive has also held, unless confirmed, they’re not a nation let alone
Madagascar.

A second, lesser-known instance of an unidentified African
nation is the pirate personification that Iceland has an interaction with.

Since it’s possible
for nations to evolve into new titles—ex: Hungary originally personified a
nomadic equestrian tribe and Liechtenstein, Austrian nobles—it would be
interesting to see if Himaruya ever decides to do something with this. For
example, the pirate personification could have survived past their old title
and evolved into a modern country. (note: I use nation loosely to encompass all
personfications, whereas ‘country’ is a nation that is politically recognized).

Lastly, there is also this sketch of what people have
presumed to be an unidentified African nation given that in the sketch they
appear with a meerkat.

I’m honesty a little confused on why northern Ireland is canonly older than England, like, I don’t know how country ages work but northern Ireland is only around 97 years old. Shouldn’t they be at least younger? Or maybe it’s like with Germany where there was already land so they were born older?

I’m not sure either tbh. I just quoted it as it was. It’s not land that makes the nations grow older. It’s the existence of people and the strength of their culture. Strictly at face value without any theories over the matter, Germany was born as a child, not an adult.

Sure thing! I’ve wanted to discuss potential/ mystery characters
for a while now.

And yes. That wiki page is very confusing because at times
it’s right “Official identities have not been revealed” and other times, it’s
wrong “This is Scotland, this is Wales etc.” Those pages aren’t reliable since
anyone can edit them.

Post coming up tonight!

Someone I know is totally convinced that England and America are biologically related, when I’m pretty sure they’re not.

They’re not biologically related.

England is said to be the son of four siblings, which
includes Scotland, Wales, and Northern Ireland.

Yes. Though England is the United Kingdom, when he comes back home, he becomes the fourth son of four siblings. His older brothers, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland, are three people.”

What was the last text you sent someone :-p

Not going to lie. I’ve been saving this ask for months, waiting for the right opportunity LOL.

If anyone’s wondering, this is why I’ve been a bit busier than usual. In one of my courses, we have to do a research project on a criminalized issue. I decided to do sex work, escort services, and something that’s becoming even more frequent among University students due to rising debts: Sugar Daddies and Babies.

(Yes I realize all three are different. That’s what the project will be exploring, on top of the legal aspects in the push for decriminalization).

Anyways, I just dropped this bombshell on my best friend:

“Okay I did something you’re going to be so mad at me for but I wanted to do it for our potential research project…

Meet your new under cover sugar baby.”
