Totally agree. What I was trying to get at is how people
blindly say “agh! Politics!” as a general bandwagon hate comment without really
understanding the meaning of what they’re saying. A series involving political
personifications is obviously going to be political.
Like you said, headcanons are perfectly fine in my opinion
as long as they don’t promote hatred or elicit any violence. Deeming these
headcanons to be canon is an entirely different matter. There’s a level of
maturity when it comes to respecting other people’s interpretations, and not
infringing on them is something this fandom needs to do better. It’s the same
thing as respecting ships (with the exception of the more problematic ones).
Getting offended by an opinion just because it differs from
yours makes you immature. However, politely engaging with the person, stating
your reasons why you disagree, and accepting that their opinion may differ from yours regardless is what a decent person would do.
It’s impossible to please and agree with everyone. What’s
possible is ignoring the content/ opinions you don’t like. Enjoy the things you
like and respect that what other people like may not fall in line with your
interests.
Don’t be petty. Simple.

It really depends. Sometimes I already have the relevant strips marked down in my notes and can answer them within a few days. Other theories require more research. And then there’s ones that involve the pulling up of a strip, which takes no time at all.
I haven’t closed my inbox, and I don’t intend to. I’m fairly organized in keeping track of things, so please don’t feel like you’re bothering me. Your interest and engagement is greatly appreciated!

Knowing how volatile the fandom can be, I would likely have to switch to video format just to show enough evidence to get people to stop throwing around petty and unsupported accusations. There are real problems with some ships, don’t get me wrong. It’s just other ships are given the same labels that trivialize the actual problem without bothering to look at the information provided in the series.
It’s a simple matter of reading the strips and not showing any bias as a result of your own OTP, which sadly, not a lot of people are capable of.
But, if I were to sum it up quickly, it’s this. There’s specific capitalization/ phrases used to differentiate between relationships, even if Hima doesn’t explicitly clarify this (I wonder why).
There’s a difference between:
Big Brother (no direct familial relation).
big brother
little brother
brother
(The latter three can be used to refer to close friends, a sibling, or a guardian.)
Guardian (takes on parenting role, may or may not become a parental figure, but is not actually a true parent.)
“I’ll make you my little brother/family” vs “That’s my little sister/brother.”
