It had me shook too! I remember watching it and being reminded of that one scene in Disney’s Hercules with the three fate sisters… and well… bam! Theory 🙂

You haven’t answered my question yet!
Ah! I’m sorry, but some of the questions you guys ask require a lot of research + fact checking in a lot of the older strips. It’s been a while since I’ve read them, and WOW, the inconsistencies are enough to drive anyone crazy. I don’t know how people remember those small details, it’s quite amazing really. I’m better at remembering history facts than I am about canon material, if that says anything.
The two theories that I can’t answer right away, but am keeping in my inbox for later is 1) Which Italy is the true sovereign, and 2) why Latvia is so short.
Also, I’m trying not to copy other theorists, so if I decide to do the same theory, I need to have something else to add to it, otherwise it’s just redundant.
As for the Italy question, I’ll go into this in more detail, but as far as I know, Italians identify themselves more according to regions. It was only when they immigrated to North America that they took on a full Italian identity.
Another thing about Santa or Christmas is that it was actually banned in England in 1644 because the holiday would start riots and lots of houses would get raided since people were a little rowdy while celebrating it. So England would have probably hated the holiday and when traditions of modern Christmas circulated there were many versions of Santa until Coca cola got a hold of him and turned him into the red fat man a magical figure made by coca cola probably didn’t seem to England as real.
Oh wow, that really puts things into perspective. Yes, exactly, it wasn’t just one figure! Thank you so much for sharing this 🙂
If England can see magical creatures, how come he didn’t know about Santa Claus huh, huh?!
I think it’s because the Santa Claus you and I both know is an
invention. Yes, you did have early tales of St. Nicolas, Father Christmas, and
other similar variations in 19th century and early 20th century literature, but
Santa Claus and the whole idea of giving presents wasn’t really a thing until
Coca Cola popularized it.
Basically, Santa Claus was a combination of different fables +
an added economic rationale to get people to spend more.
In reference to Hetalia, when people began to believe in Santa
Claus, he materialized. England probably didn’t know about him because he
hadn’t existed for long enough.
Anyways, I can’t believe I just spent five minutes explaining
this.

Anon 1: Oh definitely, I agree! The characters have so many contradictions, which is how nuanced and complex people are in real life. Although, AHHH! Thank you, but my stories are incomparable to his. I’m not happy with my writing, and have often considered deleting most of them. I won’t though, because people for some reason are still reading them, even the extremely cringey ones. If anything, I’m only half-satisfied with the last quarter of the Gay-OK cafe and the last two chapters of My Save Year :O
Anon 2: HAHA. Yeah, I have pretty bad OCD, so if things are left unfinished, I won’t touch them. I’m not even angry at George because of course life gets in the way of things. It’s just upsetting that an AU so beautifully crafted was discarded so effortlessly.
Have any thoughts on George DeValier and the like? (love your blog and posts btw)
Thank you!
The stories that I have read are pretty much literature :p. Although, I’ve only read the stories that they’ve completed, because I know if I do read the unfinished ones, it’ll leave a bitter taste in my mouth 😦
First you unpack a headcannon like whoa and then you hit me with the RusAme mystery? You’re just too good’!
I literally don’t know how to respond to compliments :’) Thank you so much. I’m going to go cry now.
I really like how this blog has turned to more educational material :)
Tbh, I didn’t think people would be interested in this kind of stuff, so I held back. I have many theories, and I’m glad that I have the chance to get them down on paper. More than that, I’m very grateful that I have other fans helping me perfect them 🙂
One last thing. I feel terrible, but please know that I see ALL of your asks, I just can’t answer them right away. Again, I’m super grateful, and I just want to thank everyone for being so sweet.
You guys really are brilliant and some of you pose questions that I can’t answer right away because I’m so busy with University and exams. Chances are if you asked me a good question, I’m putting it to the side until I have the chance to sit down and answer it properly!
shine bright like a doitsu
I’m leaving the fandom
Hi uh… your theory killed me???? I love that theory??? Idk man… I just love u right now…
Thanks so much 😀 This was so sweet of you!
Pssst. I found another piece of evidence! The first scene in episode 15 of Beautiful World has the camera angled from the inside of a fireplace. This can be interpreted as an allusion to Jeanne d’arc.
