Thank you!

Uh…I’m probably not the best person to give you advice on this. I choose UOttawa because it meant that I would save money and not have to live out. Meanwhile, a lot of people recommend that you move out to experience living on your own.

It’s really up to the person but I wasn’t about to spend an extra 10 grand a year just for living and food expenses. I also chose the university (over Carleton, the other uni in Ottawa) because it’s average acceptance requirements were higher and that my program offered a field placement option. Honestly, if your GPA is high enough, it doesn’t matter where you get your undergrad from. Work and relevant volunteer experience are more of an asset.

I’m not 100% sure where you’re coming from, so what I’m saying may not even be useful to you (e.g., the US, because I know that universities are privately run, unlike in Canada where they’re public institutions). Academic cultures differ, so that would be where you would have to do more research to better inform your decision.

❤ Yeeeee buddy. Tysm.

Thanks aren’t necessary but exactly what you just did! Your support is what keeps this blog going 🙂

Don’t poke a bat at a wasp’s nest, anon. I told him to be nice, but he didn’t listen.

Mathew: No, we’re just different. We stand out more than your normal regular ass.

2p! Canada confirmed.

Thank you 😀 Haha yes, it’s stuck!  He’s all proud that I’m bragging about him and was a good sport about the duck hunting meme.

Him: Most guys want to send dick pics. Meanwhile, I send duck pics.

Me: *deep sigh*

Don’t feel bad, dude. I don’t really care what you’re here for, just that you’re here and are enjoying yourself 🙂

Thank you. It’s my pleasure ❤ I’m always happy when people can take something from my posts.

I’m an indecisive person with diverse interests. Criminology is multi-disciplinary, including disciplines like sociology, feminism, biology, psychology, etc. It’s also diverse in the sense that you can do a lot with the degree afterwards.

LOL. Mathew’s blond with green/blue eyes. He doesn’t play hockey but he drives a truck, goes hunting, smokes a lot, wears plaid and timberland boots, lives in the country, and has a Quebecois accent.

Nothing’s official yet but it does look like we’re heading in that direction. I wouldn’t have told you guys otherwise 🙂

Anon: Thank you ❤ Sending my cringy but well-intentioned vibes your way as well!

@justanotheraccountpassingby Thank you so much 😀 Uh idk dude. I just read and write a lot. The more you write, the better you get. It’s as simple as that.

Reading helps more with your comprehension and analytical skills. You tend to find more connections if you read a source multiple times. Your analytical skills also improve the more you summarize and paraphrase material for school essays and the like.

As for critical thinking (at least for what I do in this blog), that would involve learning how to become an active vs a passive reader. When I read stuff, I always jot down notes, write memos to myself, and mark out short blurbs outlining key concepts/ themes. It makes it easier to break things down later when you have to analyze it. The same would apply to any other media/ source of information tbh.

Hope that helped!

Happiest moment you experienced in the fandom?

Oh, I’m so lame lol ^^

A year back when I uploaded a RusAme one-shot to tumblr for
the first time, I was shocked to find that three people had already liked the
post within the first five minutes. To give context, three follows/ favourites
a week was standard on ff.net.

Given that it was 9000 words, it would have been impossible
for them to have finished reading it. It’s the fact that they liked it just because they wanted
to support me which was incredibly moving and uplifting.

Ones I always go back to:

FMA brotherhood, Bleach, and Soul Eater.

I would also say Code Geass but I can’t bring myself to go through that trauma again.

One time in grade 12, my friend and I got lost on a mountain
during a field trip. We were so far off the trail that we had to be rescued by
a park ranger with a zipline. By the time we made it back to the tour bus,
everyone started clapping really loudly to commend us for how fucking stupid we
were.

I’ll never forget receiving a call from my geography
teacher.

Me: Hello?

Him: Ariella?! Are you with Jasmine?

Me: Yeah, why?

Him: THE WHOLE TOUR BUS HAS BEEN WAITING FOR AN HOUR.

Me: Oh…

Him:  Where
are you?!

Me: I don’t know? We just found a waterfall with a set of swings nearby. I guess we lost track of time…

Park ranger in the background: Yeah, they’re really far away…

Him: *incoherent Greek swearing*

*cut to our punishment of him holding our wrists for the whole
time we visited the aquarium*

Four years later and
he still mocks me about this on Facebook.

Thank you very much! I
don’t want to make any guarantees or promises… I genuinely would like to
continue my fics, but recent events in my life have really limited the amount of
spare time I have. I no longer have full weekends and afternoons to write like
I used to. Running this blog is something I can maintain with my hectic schedule.

image

I would like to, but
again, my schedule has been pretty haywire lately 😅

If it’s not incest or pedophilic in nature, you do
you. I also caution of temporality issues and to be culturally sensitive. My preferences are Spamano and FrUk for the most part.

Judging by everyone’s responses to the ironic buzzfeed article, I’m less inclined to make lists now ahaha.
I don’t hate any. On the other hand, I would be lying if I didn’t say that I
love the FACE family. Hungary’s also pretty amazing.

Biggest pet peeves?

-When rude people fall back on the excuse of “being honest.”
You can be honest without being an asshole.

-When people proudly claim to be a “stone-cold bitch” or
something along those lines. Your ‘edgy’ negativity doesn’t make you ‘cool’ or ‘inspiring’.
It’s not something any decent person would be proud of.

-People who are rude to service sector employees and feel
entitled to talk down to them – Worked
there, done that. It was the most humbling and degrading experiences of my
life.
