Sure, I think that’d be interesting to explore. The basic premise would be the normalization and adaption to precarious and dangerous circumstances.

Post coming up tonight!

Baggy, ripped jeans; nylons with jean shorts; turtle necks; baggy,
warm sweaters; combat boots; sneakers; unnecessarily long hair; eyebrows permanently furrowed from reading all the time; extremely pale-skinned [for a tan person, I don’t leave my house often]; lanky; uneven and catastrophic finger nails from cleaning; bruises on hips and
shins from bumping into things/ my blind dog obliviously smacking into me in greeting; and snacks always on hand.

I would give it a solid
eight out of ten. Its strengths are the descriptive language and imagery that
the author invokes. I can still vividly imagine the trading posts and the smog/
discolouration of the polluted air.
The weakness for me was the dialogue, save for some very memorable scenes at
the end. I feel like they focused too much on the description that the dialogue
fell flat; overall, it wasn’t very engaging for me. I’m very much a dialogue
person over that of description, so this could just be my personal bias.

The manga OBVIOUSLY xD.
I’ve always liked to
think of the anime as the Wikipedia equivalent of the manga. So many
misconceptions, 2D portrayals, and people confusing the dub as canon…

Thank you!
Hands down, Hetaoni is
my favourite fanmade creation in this fandom. I’ve watched several play
throughs on Youtube and absolutely loved it!
Although, I think it
scarred me a little. I still have nightmares where I’ve been blinded in the
mansion. I either bump into bookcases, step on the broken pieces of America’s
glasses, or grab at something slimey and muscular… it would seem that ThEre’s No EsCAping THe NiGhTmaRE.

Yikes. That would be a
strong no from me.
Animated shows and comics can get away with a lot more than content that uses real
actors.

It’s not too personal,
no worries. I’m from Ottawa.
If you really want to be
a stickler, the general rule is that 1) political, social, and economic
developments cause a nation to grow 2) if the first factor is satisfied, only then
is the average height of the population taken into consideration.
Headcanon all ya want! I’m
not going to stop you 🙂
Probably Lithuania. The degree to which he’s been ruled over after his empire was dissolved vastly affected his view of the world [x].

Volume 1, Go Sealand!

Volume 5, Together with Russia.

1) When other content creators
act as if there’s an invisible barrier between them and their followers,
especially in the comment section. It’s really not that hard to type in a
simple thank you to a kind comment/ reply to a message to say thank you.
Of course, it’s sometimes
impossible to check every comment
once time has passed, but I reply to those that I see. The comment section
should be a forum for engagement, not some classist-esque way for creators to
use their followers as a status shield and respective excuse to ignore them.
It’s something I’ve always
disapproved of and have unfortunately encountered in this fandom when I first
started out.
2) People not reading ask
guidelines before sending in an ask.
This isn’t really a pet peeve but it makes me feel bad
when I see this: Please don’t
apologize if you send in an ask. You’re not bothering/ annoying me. Thank you
for your engagement 😀
Totally agreed!
1) The Anglo-Japanese Alliance
between two lonely people [x]–
Japan reassuring England
that he wishes to form an alliance with him, not Russia.
+
England not knowing
how to react to someone legitimately wanting to be his friend, as this takes
place during the Splendid Isolation period.

England teaching Japan English despite having no idea what he’s doing.

2) World stars chapter 68– [x].
Japan teaching England Japanese ceramic art and design.

3)
World Stars chapter 142
–[x].
England sending Japan a custom postcard in reciprocation after learning that the latter had appealed to aspects of his culture.

4)
World Stars chapter 133–[x].
England inviting Japan to the opening of his maid cafe.

In the Nekotalia AU,
Himaruya uses boxes as a metaphor to illustrate Japan’s and England’s
historical political isolation [x].

Fighting for petty reasons to their own
detriment despite also caring and holding a deep respect for each other [x].

2) explain
fruk to the less enlightened pls
3) Hmmm…
Could you start a friendship series too? I think we all focus too much on the
potential romance between the pairings and not the meaningful bonds that they
share with one another. For instance, I would love if you could do a post on
Fruk’s friendship, a friendship that’s very underrated amongst the fandom. I
mean yes, they do fight like no other, but throughout the years they’ve really
formed a deep mutual respect, in their own way. Just, what are your top Fruk
friendship moments?
4) could
you talk a bit about france and england’s relationship pls? I love your
psychtalia things!
(Thank you!!!)
I’m going to cover Fruk from a friendship perspective, as I’ve promised before. I think it would be a good idea to go over certain relationships before looking at the easter eggs that slightly hint at romance.
Post coming up tonight!

Anon: Yes, I totally get that! That’s why it’s good to be open to interpretations when things aren’t definitively clear. Oh, I see. Thank you for sharing information about that trope 🙂 What made me interpret the first strip that way was because of what we saw in the Halloween strip. I interpreted it as a prelude to Taiwan being more open to appreciating other women.
@ask-the-icelandic-litlte exactly! (chapter 42 of World Stars). I don’t use labels, but you can’t deny that sexuality and love is diversely approached in Hetalia.
